THE trial of a former Burnley high school teacher, accused of sex offences, has been adjourned until next year.
Joseph Cheesbrough, a former biology tutor at St Hilda’s RC High, faced eight charges of indecent assault and two of serious sexual assault, which he denied in court.
Jurors were discharged on the second day of a Burnley Crown Court trial for legal reasons.
Cheesbrough, of Gable Avenue, Cockermouth, was bailed by Judge Jonathan Gibson to await his new trial date.
