A COUPLE are appealing for help finding their Spanish-born dog who is lost in freezing temperatures.

Ozzy, an 18-month-old German Shepherd, had only been in the country a matter of hours when he ran off into the snow in Rishton on Friday.

His owners, who have returned to Britain after a two-year spell in Lanzarote, are now frantically worried as he has never seen snow or ice, is unfamiliar with the area and still has a summer coat.

Catherine and John Harris had decided to return home to Rishton with German Shepherds Ozzy and Sasha, four, so they will be near family when their baby is born in February.

Catherine, 32, said Ozzy ran away before they even arrived in the country as they had been forced to arrive on seperate flights.

As she is eight months pregnant the couple had struggled to find an airline which would accept both her and their pets.

When their flight was delayed for 24 hours due to the weather, a relative picked up the dogs from Manchester Airport but Ozzy ran away the next day.

Catherine said: “I am going out of my mind because I just don’t know how I’m going to find him or how he’s managing. He ran off when someone opened the front door.”

Ozzy, who was wearing a red collar and is black and tan with medium length hair ran away from St Alban’s Road in Rishton at 1pm on Friday.

Anyone who comes across Ozzy is asked to contact Catherine on 07960 279983.
