OWNERS of a Darwen factory are hoping to get approval to add a steel fence to stop fly-tipping on its roof.
It will replace an unauthorised barrier on the outside wall of the New Century Works on Higher London Terrace in Sudell.
Applicant Peter O’Gorman has told Blackburn with Darwen Council the green powder-coated paladin-style fence was ‘required as a security measure to prevent unlawful tipping of domestic waste onto the factory roof’.
The borough planning committee, which will make a decision on the application on Thursday night, has previously refused backdated permission for the exiting taller fence as too high and ‘inappropriate’.
Officers have recommended approval for the new fence.
