A 49-YEAR-OLD man who stole a barbecue and alcohol worth £145 from Asda was arrested when he went back to the same store the next day.
Blackburn magistrates heard Alan West told police he had sold the previous day’s haul for £25 to a man he met on the canal.

West, of Parkinson Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to shoplifting. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £145 compensation, £85 costs, £15 victim surcharge and £150 criminal court charge.
