AN AWARD-winning not-for-profit company has now expanded into the West Craven towns of Barnoldswick and Earby.

Just Ask Domestics, which provides help to vulnerable and elderly people, decided to move into East Lancashire after a successful 12 months working in Skipton.

Managing director and former National Health Service nurse, Sarah Hulbert, said: “In creating the company four years ago, I recognised a need in local communities for a quality service, providing traditional home help to vulnerable and elderly people at an affordable price and that is what we are doing.

“I also believe that we can all do something to help and that is why we put our profits back into the communities, subsidising our services for those that cannot afford it.

“In fact, it is now a reality, that by simply using Just Ask to clean your home, you are indirectly helping people in your community receive services that they would not normally be able to afford.

“The time is right for us to expand because we now have a substantial number of staff living in Barnoldswick and Earby, and we care about our staff.

“By providing services in this area we are now reducing our staff costs and travel times and therefore reducing our carbon footprint.

“But more than that, I believe that our staff should feel good about serving their own community and it is only right to offer services to the people of Barnoldswick and Earby.”

Professional home cleaning services form the bulk of the company’s work but when it comes to providing support, Just Ask also provides a wide range of services including shopping, traditional meal preparation, companionship, cleaning, laundry and transportation.

At the end of last year, Just Ask was awarded the Craven Community Champions Award for Business Innovation in recognition of their work in the community.

The company said it also employs, trains and pays realistic wages to all of its staff, who are all “police checked” with the Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). Just Ask has also been awarded with the Social Enterprise Mark, which shows the business puts profits towards social or environmental good.

Sarah said: “I have always been passionate about what we do.

“Our team is committed to providing a level of service that we would be happy for a member of our family to receive.”
