DARWEN Vale High School headteacher Fiona Jack met with the school’s new interim executive board for the first time yesterday.

She said: “They have promised me that there will be full consultation over the decision regarding becoming an academy.”

Mrs Jack strikes me as a good egg who has not yet been given a fair crack of the whip to turn things around in a brand new purpose built school that has the potential to do the town proud.
