BOSSES at the Royal Blackburn Hospital said it was be ‘inappropriate to comment’ on the death of a pensioner three days after being discharged.
Stuart Beal, 90, was hit by a car in Clitheroe last Thursday and sustained a cut to the head.
Police said he was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where his injuries were initially believed to be minor. He was discharged on Friday, but his condition worsened and he was pronounced dead at 3.30am on Monday.
A spokesman for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “It wouldn’t be appropriate for us to comment.
“We’ll leave this as a police matter. ”
