POLICE who attended to help paramedics trying to deal with a drunken man were met with a torrent of abuse and threats.
David Harrison told the officers he would knock them all out and said he didn’t feel pain because he had a metal plate in his head, Blackburn magistrates heard. Harrison, a dad and granddad, was told he should think how he would feel if any member of his family was denied urgent medical assistance because paramedics were busy dealing with a drunk.
Harrison, 46, of Shear Brow, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. He was fined £55 with £110 costs.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Harrison remembered leaving the pub with a friend and collapsing as he walked up Preston New Road.
“He remembers nothing of the incident with the paramedics.”
