A FOUR-YEAR-OLD was helped by a mountain rescue team after he suffered an asthma attack in a remote village in the Ribble Valley.
The boy, who lives in a cottage in Whittendale Valley, north of Dunsop Bridge, was a known asthmatic and an ambulance was called when he started to have difficulties breathing on Tuesday (Dec 11) evening.
Because of icy road conditions, the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team attended along with paramedics to make sure they could get to him quickly.
Paul Durham, from the team, said: “We were called out at 9pm because it was such a remote location.
“The ambulance service requested our 4x4 back up before they set off because of potential road conditions.
“The asthma attack was well managed by the boy’s parents, but he was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for a precautionary check-up.”
