A TEENAGER who took part in a midnight gang attack on an asylum seeker is behind bars for 12 months.
Daniel Brown, 19, set upon the victim after taunting him while he was in his house in Blackburn.
The victim, said to have armed himself with a knife and gone outside waving it around, tried to retreat after realising the danger he was in.
He was confronted by the gang, punched and, after he went to the ground, Brown kicked him twice. Other gang members then carried on the beating, Burnley Crown Court was told.
Brown, of Sunnybank Road, Blackburn, admitted assault, causing actual bodily harm, last May 19. The judge said Brown had a previous conviction for violence, and had already served a short jail term.
He was also in breach of a conditional discharge and was facing breach proceedings over a community order.
Martin Hackett, defending, said Brown had difficulties over committing offences with others, drinking, and acting in an immature way.
