Blackburn prostitute broke her ASBO

SUSPENDED SENTENCE: Natasha Coker SUSPENDED SENTENCE: Natasha Coker

A PROSTITUTE banned from Blackburn’s red light district by an Anti-Social Behaviour Order was seen within the zone by police patrolling in an unmarked car.

Blackburn magistrates heard Natasha Coker was arrested after a brief chase, and when she was put in the back of a police car threw a stone which smashed the windscreen.

Coker 23, of Hollin Bridge Street, Blackburn, admitted breaching an ASBO, and criminal damage.

She was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months.

Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said officers saw Coker in King Street and she ran off. About an hour later, she was seen in Stonyhurst Road.

Roger Pickles, defending, said: “The officers do not say she was acting as a prostitute, and she says she was in the area to see somebody,” said Mr Pickles.

He said Coker threw the pebble out of frustration.

Here we go again!
When will people realise that prostitution is NOT against the law but prostituting on the streets is!
Do you want street prostitution to be legalised. Hope not?

ASBOs should go the same way as horse-drawn trams and ID cards. Folk would not be running around committing even more crime if bail was abolished and prisons were put to more use.

Don`t be so petty I mean any form of prostitution. Its a business transaction between two consenting adults - mutual exploitation. Just like marriage really.

Interesting though these details are. Do you want street prostitution to be legalised? Married or not.

I don't think people should be turned into criminals for what is a private sexual transaction between two consenting adults. I would be more worried about what happens to married women who suffer violence and harm from their husbands behind close doors.

Dogs and Animals don't get asbos-well not yet anyway.

sorry ken but it's not that simple. there are pimps, drug dealers, human trafficing and child sex abuse to consider. I don't think consent is the right term for this situation

Here we go again, ken shuffles with his ill informed and obviously provocative comments about prostitution. when will you get it Ken? this issue is not about two consenting adults entering a private sexual transaction. This is about soliciting, kerb crawling, drug dealing and pimps invading peoples neighbourhoods. Transactions taking place in public !! who cares what the delightful Ms cocker does in private. Just wish she would keep it private. Shes not a pretty sight at the end of anybodys steet. but if you dont mind perhaps you could invate her to your neighbourhood.

Publicity concerning street prostitution in Blackburn seems to have been eased. Has there been any improvements in Blackburn?
Does anyone know?
