A FRIENDSHIP blossomed into diamond romance for a Blackburn couple who are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
Jo and Margaret, of Preston Old Road, Cherry Tree, marked the landmark with family and friends at The Ribchester Arms, where they had their wedding reception.
The couple, who were born in Blackburn, met each other at a youth club. They were married at St Peter's Church, in Mill Hill on January 7, 1950 and have two sons, four daughters and 12 grandchildren.
Jo, 83, said the secret to a happy marriage is helping each other.
He added: “It is important to always be there for each other and make sure you listen and help.”
