A SCHOOLBOY who broke his hip in January is undertaking a 64-km charity bike ride.
Matteo Kercher, 13, of Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, will be riding the from Preston to Southport, to raise money for East Lancashire Hospice and Water Aid.
The event has been organised in conjunction with his school, St Wilfrid’s Church of England Academy, who have asked pupils to come up with ways to raise money for charity as part of their sponsor week.
The 64km-route would be a challenge for any cyclist, but is more so for Matteo who broke his hip in January after slipping on a patch of black ice whilst on a bike ride with his grandfather.
