TEACHERS at a Blackburn school have gone on strike months after a dispute over performance related pay and targets appeared to have been resolved.
Around 16 teachers staged a picket line outside Pleckgate High School this morning (Tuesday) in the first of further walk-outs.
Teaching union NASUWT said six of its members had been denied a legitimate pay rise while they were putting in 150 hours of extra work to try and meet targets that were not achievable.

John Girdley, Lancashire representative of the NASUWT, also said an independent panel reviewing pay was compromised.
He added a further day of action is planned for Wednesday and next week.
A spokeswoman for the school said it is ‘disappointing that NASUWT has chosen to take further industrial action, despite further meaningful talks taking place’.
The school remains open to students as normal, she said.
