A NEW recycling collection service has been launched to help those wanting to dispose of clothing and electrical items.
The free door-to-door scheme, launched by Blackburn with Darwen Council, aims to stop people putting the goods into their grey bin.
Items to be recycled include batteries, irons, kettles toasters, mobile phones, radios and power tools.
Cllr Parwaiz Akhtar, assistance executive member for environment for the council, said: “Recycling is becoming more and more popular and by making this door-step scheme available to residents it will help save money for essential council services such as elderly care and help to prevent fly tipping.
“I encourage everyone to use this free service.”
