TWO men were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire in flat in Blackburn this morning.
Two fire crews were called to the first-floor apartment in Pleasington at 10.59am today.
A Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Two fire engines and crews, from Blackburn and Bamber Bridge, responded to a report of a fire in a first-floor flat.
"Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and a portable fan unit to extract the smoke and heat.
"Two male casualties suffering from the effects of breathing smoke were taken to hospital by ambulance for precautionary checks.
"The cause of the fire is to be determined."
