EMERGENCY worked to free a casualty from a car this morning after a smash on the M65.
Police said they closed the eastbound carriageway between junction two at Clayton Brook and junction three at Riley Green after an accident.
At 8.20am police said they had reopened the motorway.
Motorists faced delays after the incident which happened at around 7.30am.
At 7.40am, a spokesman for motorway police, said: "Eastbound is currently stopped to allow fire crews to extract one casualty.
"Once they are out we will be looking to remove the block."
