A LAWYER from Blackburn is set to face a professional watchdog amid allegations that he caused a shortfall of at least £60,000 in his firm’s clients’ account and later abandoned his practice.
An intervention was undertaken by the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority into NP Law, in St Andrew’s Street, as long ago as November 2014, when the company was closed.

The regulator acted after it was discovered that the firm’s partner, Sabir Hussain, then of Oozebooth Terrace, Blackburn, had been made bankrupt via a creditor’s petition on October 28 that year.
An investigation has since been undertaken by the SRA - following the involvement of intervention agents Gordons LLP - and Mr Hussain has been referred to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
