POLICE were called to reports of a drunken male kicking out at passing cars and lying down in the middle of the road.

Blackburn magistrates heard they found David Fallows in a drunken state and he admitted having drunk a bottle of sherry.

Fallows, 60, of Sky Crescent, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. He was fined £40 with £85 costs, £150 criminal court charge and £20 victim surcharge.

Fallows told police he hadn’t had a drink for a few days. He saw a carrier bag on the floor, kicked it and discovered a full bottle of sherry inside.
