A BLACKBURN business beat the pollsters, the politicians and the commentators in predicting the winner of the General Election with an accuracy of 0.1 per cent.

In the ‘Vaping Election’ held by Blackburn-based Totally Wicked, five party leader-inspired e-liquids went head-to-head.

Fighting it out for victory amongst the UK’s 2.1 million vapers (roughly 3,200 per constituency) were: Cameron’s Eton Mess, Miliband’s Rocky Red, Clegg’s Blueberry Coalition Crumble, Farage’s Lunchtime Tipple, and Bennett’s Green Deal.

With one sale equalling one ‘vote’, the e-liquids were available until May 6.

With 37 per cent of the vapers’ ‘vote’ the winner was Cameron’s Eton Mess, a result that came within 0.1 per cent of the actual General Election result.

Fraser Cropper, managing director of Totally Wicked, said: “Over the last two years, vapers across the UK became politically engaged as politicians in Westminster and Brussels debated how best to regulate electronic cigarettes.

“As a company we therefore thought it would be interesting to take the political pulse of the vaping community during the General Election. Little did I know that when we launched our poll, we would be one of the polls to predict accurately the winner.”
