A NEW £1.6million children's centre has opened in Little Harwood, Blackburn.
The official opening included a commemorative dedication of the facilities to Coun Frank Gorton, who died recently aged 81.
Mr Gorton was a councillor in the Little Harwood area for 46 years and the plaque at the centre has been installed in recognition of his lifelong service and commitment to the community.
The centre, in Robinson Street, opened in January and was built with funding from Blackburn with Darwen Council.
