DEBENHAMS in Blackburn is urging local charities to get in touch before August 16 if they want to become the store’s ‘adopted charity’ next year.
Store manager, Matt Cooper and staff at the Northgate shopping centre store, have pledged to adopt a good cause from Blackburn or the surrounding area and will hold dedicated events in store every three months.
Matt said: “We’re a very local store and everyone is keen to do their bit for the town.
“The coming year will be very exciting for us as we enjoy getting used to our newly refurbished store, so we’re hoping to make it a bit special for a local charity too.
“Every twelve weeks we’ll host a fundraising event, maybe sponsored fancy dress or a quiz night.
“They’ll be a fun way to interact with customers and local people, but have the ultimate aim of doing something positive and raising money for our adopted charity.”
Blackburn charities of all shapes and sizes are being urged to get in touch if they would like to be considered for Debenhams continued support.
