A 28-YEAR-OLD man butted his sister during a drunken row over a can of beer.

Blackburn magistrates heard the woman eventually ran from her house barefooted, in her pyjamas and with blood pouring from her nose.

Michael John Slater, of Fowler Height Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Kelly Slater. He was remanded in custody for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the pair were at their mother’s house and everyone was drinking.

At some stage, he became abusive and then snatched a can of lager from her hand spilling it all.

She went into the kitchen and took one of his cans out of the fridge at which point he butted her.

Miss Allan said: “She immediately felt blood running down her face.”

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Slater claimed he had taken the can of lager off his sister because she was getting drunk.

Mr Taylor added: “He says he went upstairs to get away from her after the incident in the kitchen and others had to intervene to stop her getting at him.”
