Blackburn dancers' cookery routine is a recipe for success

EXCEPTIONAL dancers from St Mary’s College, Blackburn, have been hand selected to perform at a prestigious dance venue.
St Mary’s College Dance Academy has been selected to perform at the U Dance North West regional platform 2013 which takes place on Sunday, January 27, at The Lowry, Salford Quays.
Thirteen students, aged 16 and 17, from will be performing after submitting a recording of their performance to the judging panel.
The college is one of just 10 groups selected and they will be performing a piece choreographed by Sammy Allen called ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’, which takes its inspiration from the art of cooking.
Elissa Best, the head of dance, is delighted.
She said: “The dancers will have the exciting opportunity to take part in a series of workshops led by outstanding national practitioners.
“To then perform ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ at The Lowry is an opportunity of a lifetime. I am incredibly proud of the 13 dancers.”
The selection panel commented on the excellent standard of choreography and performance.
