Former Blackburn school pupil Helen Flanagan claims she is being bullied by the press

Lancashire Telegraph: The controversial image The controversial image

SOAP star Helen Flanagan has hit out after being criticised for posting a photograph of herself pointing a gun to her head on Twitter just days after 26 people were killed at a school in America.

The former Westholme School pupil claimed she was being bullied by the press for uploading the picture, which was used on the front page of the Sun with the headline ‘brainless’.

The 22-year-old Coronation Street actress first posted the picture, which is from a series of lingerie shots, in October, but uploaded it again on Monday, the day of the first funerals of the victims of the massacre at the Sandy Hook school in Connecticut.

The photograph was later removed.

The I’m A Celebrity...Get me out of Here star took to Twitter again yesterday claiming she was being bullied.

She posted: “Honestly I've got tears streaming down my face how can you do that to someone over something so tragic #feelsick can't believe I woke up.

“Anyone who knows me knows I have the biggest heart.... I feel really chocked up that’s so cruel.

“I am absolutely disgusted in this. Completely cruel. I will absolutely NOT stand for this kind of bullying.

“I've just been crying to my bf before he left for work.... Now I am just absolutely livid. I am really worried about my mum.”

Gunman Adam Lanza, 20, killed 20 children aged six and seven and six adults at the elementary school in Newtown last Friday, before turning the gun on himself.

He also shot and killed his mother before turning up at the school. Police are still looking for a motive.

Photographed in a lacy bra with a gun at her head, just after 20 children are shot dead in America? Yes, I'd go with brainless, although as a tweeting "celebrity" soap star, you just know she doesn't have much in the way of grey matter.

You silly empty headed girl.
Make an exhibition of yourself, then expect to take flak about it...
If she posted the picture othe the day as it is claimed she deserves to be given grief.
She says she cant believe she has woke up, well at least you can wake up luv, not like the poor little kiddies who have lost their lives.

Time to grow up !!!

Brainless seems to be pretty accurate. Insensitive and unfeeling might also be added to the list.

The media is full of stories about the 20 murdered children in Newton and she chooses the day of the funerals to upload this picture. then wonders why she is criticised.

i thought you were meant to have brains if you went to westholme. seems as though in helen's case it may have been more about money than neurons.

her recent adventures on "celebrity" confirmed that she gives airheads a bad name.

either her or more likely her agent seem to have taken the view that she has an extremely limited shelf-life and is going for (pardon the pun) maximum exposure. i am sure there are more irritating individuals on the circuit but i cannot, off the top of my head, think of one.

Tears and tantrums and silly insensitive mistakes are bound to happen when dealing with a child, shame she is not one anymore and needs to GROW UP.

truth be known they probably don't know or care who she is anyway.

She's racked up to the max. If she wants to seek refuge she's more than welcome round at my gaff for a few days, all I ask is that she brings some nutella chocolate spread, baby oil and a small hamster.

It certainly is a head f*** why she is still in the limelight.
