Probe into car blaze on Pendle estate

AN investigation is under way after a car was thought to have been set alight in the middle of a quiet Pendle estate.

Neighbours were awoken by the sound of the car, thought to be a taxi, as it burned in Chatburn Park Drive just before midnight yesterday.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services spokesman said a crew from Nelson fire station was called to deal with the incident.

They were able to contain the blaze to the vehicle, which was destroyed as a result of the fire.

Fire service officials confirmed that the cause of the fire was believed to be suspicious and officers from Lancashire Police, who also attended, are investigating.

Or in other words, my knackered, oil burning taxi wont sell for much if I sell it privately, so I choose the easy insurance upgrade option instead.
