EX-world snooker champion Steve Davis is set to round off an exciting summer of sport for youngsters in East Lancashire.
The Essex-born potter will be the special guest at the Byron Road youth centre in Colne next Thursday as part of a summer fun day. Davis, who won the world title six times in the 80s and is now a BBC pundit, will be hosting his own ‘snooker challenge’ at the county council venue. The previous day he will also be appearing at the Old Fire Station in Rawtenstall with the Paul Hunter Foundation.
Professional coaching, trick shot tuition and competitions are due from 10am to 4pm.
An army shooting range and assault course and a five-a-side football tourament are also planned for the all-dayer in Colne.
