Wokingham Borough Council is looking for an experienced senior communications officer to join its internal and external communications consultancy service. You’ll be part of a small, busy team, publicising the council’s services and will lead work across a whole range of communication channels. We’re looking for an enthusiastic communications professional who can use their experience and knowledge of working in public relations, social media and with the media to tell our story.
The communications team sit within Wokingham Direct, the Council’s frontline customer management team. As well as our Customer Service Centre which handles calls, emails, online requests and webchat, Wokingham Direct also manages and develops the Council’s website, and develops the use of new media channels such as SMS, touch screen information kiosks and the Council’s presence on Digital television ‘Looking Local’.
