A GOLFER in his 70s was taken to hospital by air ambulance after suffering chest pains.
The man, who was visiting Clitheroe Golf Club with other members from Whitefield, had completed his round when he complained of a tight chest.
He had suffered a heart attack in the past and complained of similar pains, which were getting worse.
The North West Air Ambulance was called and landed on the rough, near to the 18th hole, at the Whalley Road club on Monday afternoon.
The man was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
