THE former school of a Darwen man who died of a rare sarcoma cancer last year held a fund-raising evening in his memory.
Paul Nixon, 27, a former pupil and staff member at Crosshill School, Blackburn, died in November.
More than 70 people attended a Bollywood event, which included pampering and hair and beauty treatments from Our Lady and St John’s Sixth Form hair and beauty students.
The £54.78 raised from the pamper sessions was donated to Sarcoma UK, in memory of Mr Nixon.
The event raised a further £280, which will be for the benefit of Crosshill pupils.
Lynn Nixon, mother of Paul, who attended the event, said: “I was very touched that the money raised from the pamper sessions was donated to Paul’s fund.
“It was a particularly poignant evening for me as the school is relocating in September and Crosshill holds many memories.”
