A LIGHT-hearted jibe at Blackburn Rovers fans has raised a total of £1,350 for Pendleside Hospice.
The cheque was handed over on the Turf Moor pitch by Clarets fan Mark O’Dowd.
A Facebook group, called ‘Agent Kean’s Appreciation Society’, was set up by Burnley fans.
The group was created by Mark, who called for donations to fund a plane to fly over the final Rovers game of the season, carrying a banner which read ‘In Venky’s We Trust – Burnley SU’ (Support Union).
Mark, 39, of Cliffe Street, Padiham, said: “I asked if people would be willing to pay towards flying a banner over Ewood, like they did to us 20 years ago, and any extra raised would go to the hospice.
“Money was given from all over the world.”
One of the donations was a signed Charlie Austin shirt, auctioned online, donated by Burnley fan Martin Arkwright, which raised £83.
