VOTERS in Rossendale are being urged to register themselves ahead of November’s election of a police and crime Commissioner for Lancashire.

Forms will be delivered to Valley households in the coming weeks.

The elections are being held for 41 forces accross the UK. Rossendale Borough Council’s electoral registration officer, Helen Lockwood, said: “Registering to vote is very simple.

All you have to do is update the annual canvass form with the details of everyone in your household who is eligible to vote and return it to us as soon as possible.

“If your details haven't changed you can also reply by text, phone or internet. However, some people may not realise that they have to register every year.”
