DARWEN cat rescue centre Moggies is hosting a fair on Saturday to help with the huge costs of running the facility.
Moggies May Fair, organised by Moggies owner Maureen Savage, will take place at Derwent Hall, George Street, from 10am to 2pm.
The event will feature arts and crafts stalls, tombola, raffle, cake, jam and pickle stalls, and Maureen will be on hand to give advice to cat owners.
Maureen, who runs the centre in Stansfield Street, Darwen, said: “I really need the people of Darwen and anyone who has used Moggies to come and support me.
“Three of my mother cats have given birth to a number of kittens in just four days, so I can’t get rid of them for nine weeks.
“And I have a vet bill of £1,900. I don’t get any financial help and I have a job as well, so all support is greatly appreciated.”
Entry to the fair costs 30p, children go free.
