A FATHER-of-two died after jumping from a railway bridge in Accrington.

Kieron Drew Taylor was found in the King Street car park after jumping over the bridge above, an inquest heard.

Mr Taylor, 43, of Sprucewood Close, died of multiple injuries. His body was found by two taxi drivers at around 6.40am on Friday, February 3.

Mr Taylor and his wife Ruth had been experiencing marital difficulties and he moved out of his home and into his mother’s just days before his death.

His mother, Penelope Taylor, told the coroner that he had been very upset the previous day.

A note was left at his mother’s home and Mr Taylor also sent a text message to his wife prior to his death.

The coroner confirmed that Mr Taylor, an epileptic, had taken his medication.

Coroner Michael Singleton said: “I’m satisfied that Drew Taylor jumped from the railway bridge on to the car park below in King Street, Accrington.

“I’m satisfied that it was his intention to bring about his own demise. I reach the conclusion that he planned to kill himself.

“The mind is capable of going to some very dark places and people do things that seem completely inexplicable.”
