NEW ROLE Ian Sayers
THE new mayor of the Ribble Valley has been inaugurated at a ceremony in Clitheroe.
Coun Ian Sayers has taken over the role from Simon Hore and his first official engagement was to meet the Queen when she visited Hyndburn yesterday.
He said: “Ribble Valley is a beautiful area and I am looking forward to helping the community prosper in any way I can during my mayoral year.”
Coun Sayers’ mayoress is Jean Hayes and his chosen charities are Guide Dogs UK and the Alzheimer’s Society.
