AN inquest into the death of a retired labourer has found that he died from exposure to asbestos.
James Noble, who was 77 when he passed away, was a former employee of the North West Water Board.
The inquest heard how Mr Noble, who was living at Madeleine House, in Shear Bank Road, Blackburn, had handled asbestos while cutting pipes.
Mr Noble, who was born in Belfast, was suffering from lung cancer when he passed away.
Michael Singleton, coroner for Blackburn, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, said: “I am satisfied that during his working life Mr Noble was exposed to asbestos and he died of the occupational disease.”
