ROSSENDALE MP Jake Berry welcomed the policies outlined in the Queen’s Speech on Wednesay, where her Majesty formally opened the Parliamentary session.
He said: “The first priority in the Queen’s speech is to reduce the deficit and restore economic stability.
“Legislation will be introduced to reduce burdens on business. It is crucial that we continue to cut red tape and support local businesses.
“Regulation will be strengthened in the financial sector, and we will implement the recommendations of the Independent Commission on Banking.
“I am delighted that a Bill will be introduced to reduce the burden on charities.
“Enabling them to claim additional payments on small donations.
“I welcome reform of the electricity market to deliver secure, clean and affordable electricity.
“And to ensure that prices are fair.”
