A NUMBER of Pendle businesses were honoured at the borough’s annual Business Awards ceremony at the ACE Centre, in Nelson.

Nelson-based Door4 Ltd, a creative web design agency, won the technology and innovation business of the year, while Barnoldswick-based Canal Boat Escapes won the environmental business of the year.

The most outstanding Business of the Year was won by three companies – Micro Wicked Cycles in Colne, Carradice of Nelson and Graham Engineering.

Tim Webber, chairman and managing director of Barnfield Construction, won business person of the year, Businesswise Solutions won new business of the year, The Art Pallette won small retailers of the year and Simon Mellin, of Roaming Roosters, was young entreprenuer of the year.

Allan Buck, who came up with the idea of Pendle Business Awards, said: “This year they were bigger and better than ever.

“The ACE Centre was once again a fantastic venue and everyone had a really good night.”
