A CHARITY fundraiser in memory of a former Todmorden High student who lost his life from injuries suffered in the Afghan conflict will take place in June.
Friends of Jack Stanley, who died earlier this month aged 26, after stepping on an improvised explosive device while serving with the Queens Royal Hussars, are determined to keep his memory alive.
Supporters in Todmorden, before his death, had already established a fighting fund, selling wristbands, which raised more than £2,000.
Now pals have arranged a charity pub crawl between Jack’s House, in Burnley Road, and the Dyers Arms in Littleborough for June 2.
Jack, a renowned footballer both in the Army and on Civvy Street, had helped the Todmorden pub’s side to league glory.
