CHILDREN in East Lancashire will have the chance to make history as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The winners of a National Farmers’ Union school colouring competition will be invited to plant 60 trees in a diamond formation to mark the event.
The Lancashire County chairman of the NFU, Graham Young, who farms at Greenhurst Farm, in Samlesbury, said: “With such a countryside-loving Queen, we feel it’s important we mark her Diamond Jubilee in a fitting way.”
The trees will be planted at the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Society’s countryside experience at Witton Park, Blackburn, on May 20. To request a colouring pack, email carl.hudspith@nfu.org.uk.
