FAMILY and friends of a Haslingden man thought to have died after being struck by lightning have paid their final respects.

Scores of mourners turned out on Friday to see 41-year-old bricklayer Justin Feber laid to rest.

The dad-of-one, who lived in Langwood Court, collapsed at the Bovis Homes Development site where he was working in Wychwood Village, Weston, near Crewe on April 11.

The former Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School pupil was buried at Burnley Crematorium following a service at St Nicholas Church, in Newchurch conducted by Rev Sue Davies.

The Manchester United FC supporter, was a sub-contractor at the site by Chorley based Matthews and Leigh Civil Engineering Ltd.

Despite their best efforts of his colleagues and further medical attention from paramedics, Mr Feber died at Leighton Hospital, in Crewe.

He leaves his partner Karen, daughter Libby, nine, mum Carol, dad Jack, brother Jason, sister-in-law Catherine and niece Millie.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into Mr Feber’s death by the Cheshire Coroner.
