A COMMUNITY champion is supporting the search to find Rossendale’s most inspirational woman of 2012.
Former Rossendale Woman of the Year Jose Walker is backing the campaign by Rossendale Hospice to honour the achievements of the borough’s most remarkable women.
Despite suffering from increased mobility problems as a result of an accident, Jose continued to work tirelessly to help improve the health, wellbeing and lives of others.
Jose, from Edenfield, said: “Although, the deterioration in my mobility injuries has meant I have had to retire from community work, I will always see my award as recognition of everything I have achieved.”
The award ceremony will be held on May 18 at the Red Hall Hotel, in Ramsbottom.
