AN investigation is underway after a 37-year-old man was hit by a car on a Burnley bypass last night (Tues).
Police say the victim was crossing Centenary Way at around 8.30pm when he was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said that the vehicle then struck the central reservation and ended up in the opposite carriageway.
The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, suffering from leg, chest and arm injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police closed the road for around three-and-a-half hours, affecting traffic leaving the area for the Burnley-Birmingham match.
People who witnessed the incident can assist Lancashire Police by calling the new non-emergency number on 101.
