A TRIPLE rapist serving 10 years behind bars will not face trial over an allegation he molested a teenager more than a decade ago.

Ex-soldier Alexander Fleming, 51, had pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecent assault between 1999 and 2001 at Burnley Crown Court.

The allegation was left to lie on the file.

The defendant, from Burnley, but of no fixed address, was locked up for a decade on March 16, after admitting three counts of rape.

The sentencing hearing had been told Fleming had attacked two vulnerable teenage girls 20 years apart.

He was ordered to sign the sex offenders' register and was banned from working with children, both for life.
