A NEW reading group aimed at improving people’s health and wellbeing has been launched in Padiham.
The group will meet at Padiham library following the Easter holidays and it will give people a chance to read or listen to someone else reading.
The aim of the group is to get people to think creatively and explore new issues and subjects.
Research has shown that this is very therapeutic.
Janet Swan, reading development officer, said: “Anyone can come along to our free reading group.
“The groups are about shared reading.
“A facilitator will read aloud so all you have to do is listen. The groups also make time to pause for reflection which everyone can join in with.
“Groups also help with confidence building because people from within the group often read aloud too.”
