A BLACKBURN couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary with a family party.
George and Frances Buckle raised £400 for the Action Duchenne charity after asking for donations instead of presents.
George, 71, a former quality inspector at BAE systems, said “We have a young member of the family who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and thought it would be a good chance to raise some more money for the charity which has already done so much to support him. We are grateful to everyone who contributed.”
Frances, 70, was brought up in Bank Top and ran a hair salon in Rishton, and later, one in Park Lee Road, Blackburn.
They moved to Leyland three years ago to be closer to their children and 12 grandchildren.
