A TEENAGE girl assaulted a woman and attacked her car outside a takeaway and then bragged about it on Facebook.

Blackburn magistrates heard Ashleigh Holmes posted; “Sat here laughing my head off. Just had the funniest fight with a Justin Beaver wannabe and his mum.” The court heard Holmes caused nearly £3,000 worth of damage to the car which was only covered by third party insurance.

But the magistrates said because of their guidelines and the defendant’s personal circumstances they could only award £300 compensation.

Holmes, 18, of Yeadon Close, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman and damaging her Alfa Romeo car. As well as the compensation she was ordered to do 120 hours unpaid work.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the victim had stopped outside a takeaway while her 16-year-old son went in to collect some food. Holmes pushed the boy against a wall, called him ‘Justin Beaver’ and made a comment about his eyebrows. The boy’s mum went in and asked what Homes was doing and she responded by saying: “What’s it got to do with you?”

Staff removed Holmes from the shop and she said she was going to “wait” for the woman and her son. Jonathan Taylor, defending, said: “She is now pregnant and it is important that she prioritises that and puts this kind of behaviour behind her.”
