A LORRY driver has escaped with minor injuries after a crash on the M6.
Firefighters are working to release the motorist from the vehicle, which crashed onto its side, on top of a BMW.
The incident happened at 9.35am near Charnock Richard services between junction 29 and 28 on the south-bound carriageway of the motorway which is now closed A BMW is still under the lorry, but the woman driver has been pulled out of the vehicle and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Lane three on the northbound carriage is also closed.
Police say the southbound carriageway is likely to be closed for the rest of the day.
