ONE of the North West’s largest developers looking to invest £16million in Hyndburn has predicted a bright future for the borough.

Peel Land and Property plans to create more than 250 new jobs by carrying out a £16million refurbishment and modernisation scheme at Whitebirk Retail Park.

The work is subject to ratification from Hyndburn Council, and a decision is expected by the March 14.

It comes after plans were approved for the development of the Junction 7 Business Park, Clayton-le-Moors.

A Peel spokesman said: “All the indications for 2012 from the private sector suggest Hyndburn is very much open for business.”
