A 31-YEAR-old woman has been left with serious head injuries after she was knocked down this morning.
Police said it appeared that the woman was hit by a car after she stepped out of a taxi in Sett End Road, Shadsworth, Blackburn, at 6am.
Accident investigations are underway and officers have closed Sett End Road to Johnson Way while they take place.
Paramedics were initially called to the scene to take the woman to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.
The ambulance service then contacted police.
